VBN with Alex Michèll - Nelson Webster

I recently discovered Alex Michèll while looking for new R&B/Soul artists to listen to and I was definitely not disappointed. On his SoundCloud he features only two songs, but the impact is felt immediately. The song I want to focus on is VBN featuring Kevin Brown.

If I had to describe this song in one word, it would be ‘smooth’. From the beat to the vocals, verse to hook, front to back this song is the epitome of modern R&B/Soul. The track starts off with tight harmonies and segways into a syncopated melodic flow that accents the instrumental well. Kevin Brown adds to the track with an in your face vocal delivery on his guest verse.

Definitely do not stop at VBN once you discover this up and coming artist, but I would definitely start there. It seems like Michèll is gearing up to drop an EP, and the two singles already released piques my interest to find out what’s next! Signing off, Nelson Webster.
