Enter the Comfort Zone with Kevin Bua - Nelson Webster
Better Days, a song by up and coming artist, Kevin Bua, is the album cut energy the streaming era is missing. This was the first glimpse of the emotion evoking potential of the artist from Maryland. I didn’t need a hook or chorus from him, the bars were all I needed and he had a lot to say, and I was there to hear as soon as I heard his voice.
I don’t want this article to seem like a review, especially of one song, but I think explaining my first impression as I did is the only way to capture the essence of how I felt, and what you could expect from Bua. He has a style and he is true to it, dense rapping over dense, but silky production.
Fast forward to me being blessed with an entire EP from Bua, Comfort Zone. The six song EP, is a project full of deep album cuts, with stand out tracks being Soul Child and Black Out. With this project, I got a potent glimpse of what it was like growing up for Bua, and made me want to hear more, and it will do the same to you. His latest release is his Lemon Pepper Freestyle, another offering of consistent quality.
If you are looking for thought provoking, heavy voice rapping over dense production, Kevin Bua is the artist you should give a listen, you will not be disappointed.
