Quaid Shows his Devotion

We’re back with another song review of an artist, this time a song produced by a member of S.A.E., an affiliate artist of Stoned Produce. The song is called Devotion, by the artist Quaid, another artist on the Atlas88 label, and it is his second song ever officially released, though it is hard to tell with how well the song is put together, only about a minute long, the song is potent. To start, the production is not what I’d expect from S.A.E., but that is not a bad thing, as it is a jazz inspired boombap rap track with no melodic adlibs, but packed with lyrics and flows.

Quaid is an artist that prides himself on his pen and you can tell. He puts effort in flows, rhyming schemes, and wordplay. Devotion takes me back to the nineties and I wish there was an extended version of the song, as it seems like he can rap for days if you let him.

Quaid is on the right path. His ear for production and lyrics exceeds the expectations of someone with only two songs released, and his content is mature. I can see myself listening to this song on a drive when I’m trying to chill, or in the closing rotation of a party, when it’s time to wind down and transition to the later part of the night. Give it a listen, and follow him on his Instagram so that you don’t miss any of his new releases coming up, this is definitely an artist to look out for the future generation of talent.
